Exploring Active Meditation

Active Meditations are the synergy of movement and
meditation and offer an accessible approach to quietening the mind via the use of specific movements, which can include laughing, shaking, breathing, jumping,
catharsis, dancing and whirling before entering a space of stillness and silence. As with all meditation, the aim is to allow the mind to be quiet and go beyond
the mind to access the deeper parts of yourself.
Some of these meditations were devised by Osho, a
20th Century Enlightened Indian Mystic, for the modern lifestyle although many are based on ancient meditation techniques. All meditations last one hour with an
explanation beforehand and a brief optional sharing afterwards. There is a different meditation every week - see each week for details. All active meditations are
suitable for beginners. All Osho Active Meditations use Osho’s official instructions and music.
The meditations are arranged through the
London Osho Active Meditation Meetup Group (see inset page below) through which the dates and details of each week’s meditation are available - you can
simply join (free) and then reserve your place by responding ‘Yes’ to the event(s) you are interested in attending.
Facilitator Ankur is an experienced
Spiritual Coach and Facilitator focussed on enabling others to discover their True Self via meditation and intensive, experiential work. More about Ankur.
Venue The venue is Synchronicity: a lovely
venue in London (Zone 2), just a couple of minutes walk from Clapham North tube (Northern Line) or 10 minutes walk from Stockwell tube (Victoria Line). More about the venue.
